GLOBAL VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

Building Urban Economic Resilience during and after COVID-19

12 August 2020, 08:00-11:00 (CEST): Session for Asia, Pacific and Europe regions
17 August 2020, 15:00-18:00 (CEST): Session for Latin America, Africa and Arab regions

COVID-19 has made us live through an unprecedented crisis, with most of the cities across the globe being significantly affected. The United Nations is committed to strengthening the capacities of local governments not only to better respond to the impacts of this crisis but also to build resilient cities and ensure that local economic recovery is sustainable and inclusive.

UN-Habitat, together with its partners UNCDF and the UN Regional Commissions, organized a Global Virtual Workshop on 12 August 2020 (for participants from Asia, Pacific and Europe regions) and 17 August 2020 (for participants from Latin America, Africa and Arab regions), as part of a larger project on Building Urban Economic Resilience during and after COVID-19.

The Workshop provided a global platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange on urban economic recovery and resilience, and informed the project conceptual framework on urban resilience and the global compendium of practices. In the workshop, we also shared the initial findings from the Questionnaire for the Global Compendium of Practices.

You can check the workshop presentations and session recordings in Program Details section below.
